The Villa result at Upton Park midweek was massive. We worked hard for that result and general consensus is that we got what we deserved (just). What it meant to the fans to the players and to Zola/Clarke(/even Kevin Keen) was clear for all to see.

I found myself engaging in a rousing chorus of “Super Stevey Clarke” after his comments on the Ilunga affair last night…it was brilliant to hear him defend Ilunga, and with perfectly legitimate reasons. Equally, I was delighted to hear

Obviously it’s completely unwelcome in this day and age for a player to react how Ilunga did. Rolling about like that was embarrassing. His season thus far has been a far cry from the honest performances we saw from him last year and it’s
