LONDON — West Ham has signed Italian striker Alessandro Diamanti from Livorno. The Hammers say they paid the Serie A club an undisclosed fee for Diamanti, who will compete with Carlton Cole, Savio Nserko and the injury-hit Dean Ashton for a place up. .
